The Stock Photo of the Printer

Yesterday I went to Walmart and purchased an all in one printer made by Epson. Previously, I owned two printers one was a Kodak and the other a Canon. Let’s start with the Kodak printer

The Kodak printer claims to be of great quality and due to their name, you would expect great prints well, WRONG! The Kodak printer that I had printed less than desirable pictures and documents and lasted a mere 7 months before breaking down. The printer kept alerting me that there was no ink in the printer and yet there was brand new ink in the printer. Keep in mind that this printer will NOT print if you have only one or the other (black or color) even if both cartridges are in place and even if you choose one on the settings. So where most people who don’t have colored ink in their cartridge could just select “Print in Grayscale”, you cannot do that with the Kodak printer.

The cannon – Ugh where do I start. This printer was absolutely horrible from the beginning. Now, I didn’t expect much for $30 but seriously, the printer only printed in green and yellow ink and the documents were so horrible you had to squint to read them. Lines and stone age graphics make that printer a no no!

After my frustrations with crappy printers, I finally decided to try the Epson Expression Home XP-424 model printer. This particular printer has very high reviews and I thought well, I have a 2 year warranty on it and I have 90 days to return it if it doesn’t work. I paid $60 for this printer at Walmart and what I love about this printer is that it doesn’t require a USB cable in order to work, it does work solely on Wifi, I couldn’t believe it! I’ve had other printers like the Kodak that supposedly worked on Wifi but never did even when connected but this Epson certainly does! Unlike most printers, this printer takes 4 ink cartridges which I’m not sure I like. It comes with a Yellow, Cyan, Black, Color ink cartridges, all of which were individually vacuum sealed in their own packages.

The printer boasts that it can print 175 pages on the black ink and 165 pages on the colored inks. It has a scanner and a copier built in. It will print from Wireless, Wifi Direct, Tablet and Smart Phone printing. It boasts that it’s Hi Res 2.5″ color display. I did have a little trouble putting in the paper correctly as when you pull up the back that supports the paper, you must pull up and then bend backwards in order for it to stay in place. You also must move the slider where the slider goes to the end of the paper in order for it to print straight. However, this is a minor issue and it works well once you do it correctly.

I printed a test page and a document and I have to say I’m impressed with the colors and clarity based on the price of the printer. It certainly works much better than any printer I have ever owned. I suggest you buy this printer, I think you’ll be quite satisfied. I give this printer a 4/5 star rating overall.

Charter Communications Internet

Published January 27, 2016 by Amplio Recorrido

I’m starting an online war against Charter Communications and their service! I’ve called multiple times a month, every month for over a year. I talk to Charter more than my own family and I know every technician that comes out here so well, we could have get together’s to BBQ and have swim parties.

I’m so sick of Charter and their service and their twisted business practices! They are the only company in our city and that’s exactly why they are screwing us! They want to charge me $65/month for internet and I’m getting between 8mbps – 11mbps download speeds on a regular basis. Yes, I’ve done all of the tech support imaginable and I’ve changed my equipment multiple times, I’ve even moved my router and modem to a better location yet, they don’t care. On top of that, we have outages every few days sometimes and at least several times a month. They always claim they are fixing and have fixed the problem and it’s bullshit!

They are getting tons of calls from customers in my state about the same issues constantly and what does corporate do? NOTHING! Then if you’re out of internet for say 10 hours, you’ll be lucky to get a $5 credit. What does that do for me? NOTHING! I don’t care about the stupid credit! I want my internet to be reliable and I’ve been told by every single representative that I’ve spoken with “If you don’t like it switch to another provider” and then they laugh because they know there are no other providers. That’s customer service? BULLSHIT! Something needs to be done about this and since no one at Charter cares, I guess it’s going to take filing a lawsuit against the company and reporting them to the BBB for their shady business practices.

If anyone else has experienced bad service with Charter, please comment below and tell me what you have managed to get from them.

The San Bernardino, CA shootings

Published December 3, 2015 by Amplio Recorrido

I wanted to blog today about the San Bernardino, California shootings which happened on December 2nd, 2015. We know for sure that this was not an act of ISIS but rather, this is an act of people who had the full intention of killing a particular group of people. In the event that it was ISIS, they would have killed many more and probably blown up the building and then themselves. These suspects actually killed only a small group of people and then fled in an SUV.

Now, when news first hit of the tragedy, many people were quick to say it was Muslim’s who did it and I believe this is because American’s have come to believe that Muslims are all terrorists and that they are always looking for someone to attack here in America however, these incidents occurred in a run down city, that is for many reasons a crime capital and anyone at any time could become a victim in the city of San Bernardino.

Having lived in San Bernardino nearly 2 years before moving, I can tell you that a lot of crime happened daily and there were always stabbings, murder, robbing that sort of stuff and of course constant sirens and helicopters. From what I understand concerning this incident, the suspects rented out a conference room in the building so that they could have access to the building and they claimed it was for a Christmas Party however, that is very suspicious in nature considering that Christmas is several weeks away still. So any way, they went into the conference room and started shooting and then went throughout the building to the offices looking for people to shoot. As of 8:00 pm 12/2/15 here in California, there are 14 confirmed dead (2 of which are the suspects) and 18 injured (including the cop who was shot). 1 of those patients is in critical condition and may not survive the night.

I have been kept up to date on every interview, conference on the news as well as the full story as it develops and this doesn’t seem like an act of terrorism at least not in the way that many people define terrorism (typically using Muslim’s). It was however a well planned attack against a particular group of people. The building is a building that focuses on helping people with disabilities. From what I understand, one of the victims was paralyzed and in a wheel chair and that’s who they shot first. What kind of coward does someone have to be to shoot people in the first place and then to shoot someone who can’t defend themselves? Then Obama has the nerve to get up on National TV and make his BS apology statements and then claim “We need to do something about the gun laws”, really Obama? Don’t you think he probably should have done something a long time ago? I do realize that having gun laws in effect won’t stop all guns from coming into the hands of crazy people and criminals but, if our government raided more people of their guns, it would be much more difficult to have mass shootings.

So many people are upset about the idea’s of having their guns taken away from them because, they feel that the majority are responsible. What you don’t understand is that whether there are responsible people or not, there are just too many non responsible, crazy people who are going to end the lives of hundreds of people and eventually destroy the citizens of the U.S. and therefore, due to all of the senseless murders and guns being the weapon of choice, we have to do something drastic now about guns being here. Too many innocent lives being taken.

As a previous resident of San Bernardino, my heart truly goes out to those affected by this tragedy and the exception to that is, I do not feel sorrow for the shooters who died. I will update this blog if any new information becomes available. Thank you for reading and please reblog.

So you want a dog?

Published November 2, 2015 by Amplio Recorrido

Zakari

I recently rescued a dog from an animal shelter. I decided that I wanted a dog for protection and for my son who has autism. When I saw the dog on the animal shelter website, I knew that he was a dog that I wanted to rescue. He had obviously had a hard life, he was covered in ticks and was malnourished. So the next day I went to the shelter and adopted him.

When I arrived there, I was in shock at just how skinny he was. He was listed as an old English bulldog and I knew that couldn’t be his breed based on his size and his having very little wrinkles on his face. When I looked into his face he definitely had some Pitbull in him. It was determined by myself and the vet that he was Pitbull mixed with American Bulldog. The dog who had no name at the shelter seemed to be very excited to be outside in the play yard but didn’t pay much attention to me. He never once barked or growled and so I thought maybe he’ll be a good dog.

When I put him in the car, he sat down like a human on the seat and seemed really happy to be leaving the shelter. It’s almost like he knew he would have a forever family. We got him home and he ran about the big yard that I have which is fenced in fully and smelled everything. He seemed very happy and within a few minutes he quickly warmed up to me, still no bark. I was highly concerned because he didn’t know us and he wasn’t responding the way many dogs do. No matter how much noise was going on here, throughout the neighborhood or even the barking dogs in the neighborhood, he paid no attention. I took him to the vet the next day and everything checked out ok, they removed all the ticks and said for me to keep feeding him 4 times a day. Though he’s very protective of me and my son, he’s still not barking at all.

He does this thing where he’ll stand length wise in front of my legs any time I feel anxious and I’m kind of wondering if he was a service dog to someone. As someone who suffers from chronic anxiety, to see the way he reacts to me when I’m in an anxious state, I have a feeling that he was trained for someone who had anxiety. I wonder if he’ll ever actually be protective of me in the event that someone is a threat to me. I’ve had him for 3 days now and with no signs of aggressiveness or barking, I’m not so sure I picked the right dog.  He also seems very needy, at night he lays at my bedroom door (he’s an outside dog) and he whines.

My suggestion to anyone who’s getting a dog is to take the time and think about it. Do you really want a dog? Especially a large dog like what I have. He eats tons of food and drinks lots of water, when they are malnourished and you adopt them, prepare to be feeding 4 times a day sometimes more and prepare to be their only friend. If you’re wanting a dog to be protective of you but not be aggressive towards you, test them out at the shelter. So what you would want to do is have someone else make a sudden move toward you or pretend that they are going to attack you and see how the dog responds. I didn’t do that and now I’m left with just another animal to feed and no guarantee that he’ll protect me.  So in my case, I wasn’t looking for a baby, another mouth to feed to just to be a family pet, I was looking for a working dog.

Dogs are a huge responsibility and you definitely should adopt from a shelter rather than a person. In the event that it’s not the dog you had hoped for or he/she’s too much trouble, you can return them to the shelter and pick out the dog you really want. If you take it from someone, you’ll end up with the dog and no guarantee’s and of course you can always take it to the shelter but, there’s also the risk you run that they won’t take a dog they haven’t already had before and there’s always guilt of returning a dog to either way. At this point, there’s no way that I could take him back to the shelter, I know that if he didn’t get adopted right away, they would euthanize him because they didn’t have the space.

UPDATE: We have figured out that he will bark if someone rings the doorbell, so I’m hoping any criminal who comes here rings the doorbell, lol. In the little over a week that I have had him, he’s gained 19 pounds. I take him once a week to the vet just for a weight check and we were all pleasantly surprised at his weight gain. He also decided he wants to play now and though he won’t fetch anything, he does like to play tug-o-war with his rawhide bone and a rope. A dog will be your friend for life if you feed them, pet them and play with them so make sure you have sufficient space before getting a dog because chaining a dog up means you shouldn’t have a dog and make sure that you’re going to give them plenty of attention.

My Review: Charter Communications

Published October 19, 2015 by Amplio Recorrido

So today I’m going to review Charter Communications on both internet and TV.

I’ve had Charter as my internet provider for a year and TV for a month. Like many people, I’m not crazy about Charter and as a matter of fact, if I had other options I would take them. I’ve had nothing but trouble on the internet side. Paying an astounding $44.99 a month for “high speed” internet. Now, I put high speed in quotation marks because well, they just don’t match up with the speeds they claim you’ll receive. I feel that their prices are ridiculous compared to what you actually get. Also, I’ve had to have a technician and a supervisor technician come out more than 20 times in the past year to repair all sorts of problems. There’s constant outages, the internet will just turn off and you have to reconnect, sometimes it just doesn’t work at all for a day or two and it’s just always something wrong.

The TV portion. Expensive, Expensive, Expensive! The prices are absolutely ridiculous for basic TV. I could get way more channels for a much lower price if I went for satellite verses Charter. Charter knows they don’t have good prices and they could care less! They only reason they sucker people like me in is because they don’t have any contracts and you can cancel your service any time. Oh and be prepared to be billed for 2 months at once every month on the TV service. When I signed up, I was told that I would have a prorated amount to pay on my next bill. Exactly one week later, to my surprise I had the prorated amount plus a months worth of internet and a months worth of TV which brought it to a ridiculous $135 and it had to be paid within 3 weeks. Are you kidding me? Is that how they love to scam people? Oh and by the way, after the first year (even though there’s no contracts), you’ll expect to pay $118 for internet and TV combined every month and you’re also penalized for having wifi so they charge extra if you want to keep your wifi (Imagine something that’s been around a long time, is free in many different hotspots and yet you have to pay extra for wifi) and you’ll have to pay for the router and each cable box. The price just goes up and up, being charged for everything under the sun.

The customer service: HORRIBLE! Most of the employees are real jerks there. They don’t want to hear you out, they don’t want to help you out and if you’re unhappy their response is “Well, you’re not under contract, you can always cancel and go to another company”. As if that’s some sort of threat. I would love to go to any one of their competitors. I know that I would get better customer service, better pricing and better product. So in closing, if you can avoid Charter, do so!

Social Media

Published October 15, 2015 by Amplio Recorrido

I decided to write a blog about Social Media because, there are a few things that are important when deciding whether or not social media is for you.

#1 – Social Media can be helpful if you’re only using for it is games and to talk with friends/family.

#2 – Social Media isn’t for anyone who can’t handle conflict. Know that every single comment you make on any page concerning Facebook, you will be ridiculed for it regardless of your intentions.

#3 – Social Media contains every person you can imagine and that includes all of the bad people.

So today I’m going to focus on point #2. When it comes down to using Facebook and liking pages, you have to be aware that there are going to be various people commenting. In particular, when you’re looking at news Facebook pages, you’re going to see various stories which are upsetting to people in different ways. There are several different types of scenarios that will happen regardless of the subject of the news story.

#1 If it’s a “racially motivated” crime, you’ll never hear the end of it. You’ll always find that if it’s blacks who had a crime committed against them, they’ll load the comments and be ready to fire at the first person who says anything other than “That’s sad to hear”. You’ll be attacked so fast for making any comments that can possibly be skewed as racist and you’ll definitely hear “You’re part of the problem”. They are already waiting for any white to come along so they can vent that anger and race card so be prepared.

#2 Any crime against children. Now normally this would be loaded with people who believe the molester should be killed and that’s to be expected but, you’ll also find a lot of Atheists in there too who are loaded and ready to bash Christian’s for everything they are worth. Any type of disaster that involves the death of someone, be prepared to have some Atheist troll ready to attack you and God. If you’re not Christian, this won’t bother you.

#3 Like with all news stories, you’re going to hear similar stories. In this case, if you’re tired of hearing someone killed, raped or robbed someone, you probably should avoid liking pages with news stories. As far as other types of pages go like for instance movies, know that once you hit the like button, you’ll automatically have your news feed filled with either old scenes from that movie through pictures or loaded with really old comments. It can become obnoxious if you’re only wanting to say that you have seen the movie.

Social Media can be fun, frustrating, depressing and it can also be a nightmare. There’s nothing more dramatic than talking to people on Facebook. I primarily talk about Facebook and not other sites like Twitter because they aren’t loaded with trolls like Facebook is. You’re going to find that there are so many people out there who use Facebook as a way to bully others, to vent their frustrations against a certain race or a religious person and that’s all they will ever do. If you’re not careful, they will actually follow you all around Facebook relentlessly and comment on everything you comment on. It becomes like a game for them to torture you. If you still think Facebook or other social media is for you, just use caution and known that you can deactivate and reactivate your account at any time and make sure that you block anyone who you notice is harassing you or following you around.

Black and White World

Published October 6, 2015 by Amplio Recorrido

You know, as I read many comments on social media when something bad happens, I realize that people truly believe we live in a black and white world. Here’s why:

If there’s a shootout between blacks, no one says a word. If there’s a shootout between whites, no one says a word. If the races are mixed, the blacks are out shouting “Black Lives Matter” and trying to reinforce their slavery card. I can’t understand why it works that way or why these people actually believe that they are the only one’s suffering.

What people seem to forget these days is how much the Latino’s and the Native American’s have and are suffering and not due to any violent crimes either. You see, prior to the Mexican-American war, many Mexican’s built and lived in what is now the United States and they owned many of the states. When Columbus came over by mistake, he did not discover America, he discovered the people living on this land which at the time were not white people speaking English.

Everyone is all “Deport the illegals” but they have no idea that these people are not illegals. It’s sad that they worked so hard to build this country and now after being forced into a war torn zone that is now Mexico, everyone wants them out as if they own the place and it’s always white people. White’s genuinely believe that this country belongs to them, that it always has and they have a right to kick people out.  Latino’s have suffered incredibly since the Mexican-American war and continue to suffer at the hands of uneducated white’s. The entire “This is America speak English” thing proves such lack of education due to the fact that America is a continent and English came way after the Mexican’s and the Native American’s were living in the America’s and were then invaded by the true immigrants, white’s.

To make matters worse, Native American’s have been forced onto reservations and told they will receive no help from anyone including the government. Many of them are solely dependent on whatever animals they can catch, the water flowing through their land and their own people. It’s a shame to see how both the Mexican’s and the Native Americans are being treated in this so called “Land of the free” country. Both races truly are the victims of violence and unfairness. I hope that you will all become educated on these matters and pass it along so we can finally stop all of the ignorant memes, being passed around.

My Review: ADT Security Systems

Published August 14, 2015 by Amplio Recorrido

ADTsucks

Ever thought about getting a home alarm system? Ever considered going with ADT? DONT! Let me tell you about my experience.

I bought a house in November and I figured out pretty quick that I would need a security system. So, who do I call? ADT because, they advertise heavily and make it seem like you’re getting a great deal. So a man from corporate came out to the house and gave his speech. He told me all about ADT and how they are the leader in security systems, he told me how much I would be paying which was $47.99/month and that I wouldn’t have to pay for any of the equipment of front, so basically no upfront costs.

When ADT came out to install my system in January, I was excited and looking forward to having the peace of mind they constantly talk about. When it came down to a motion sensor that constantly went off 15-30 minutes after it was turned on and 3 phone calls to the police to check the house out while we were gone, I became frustrated when nothing was happening inside the house. We’ve had about 5 tech calls for the motion sensor and 2 replacements later, it seems to be functioning. That’s one of the major hassles with ADT, they give you malfunctioning and probably used equipment.

So anyway, on August 2nd I made a payment to them with my usual method of a debit card. So usually you wait no more than 48 hours and you see your payment posted on the account. Mine was never posted however, I did a screenshot of my completed payment. After 3 days and it still wasn’t on the account, I contacted ADT via email and received nothing! 7 days later, I contact ADT again via email and still nothing. Yesterday, 12 days later I contacted ADT only to be told “Your payment didn’t go through, we tried taking it out on August 3rd and it was declined. Uh BULLSHIT! The money was in there for 12 days until I finally assumed they didn’t want it and I paid another bill with it instead. The customer service rep was so snappy and rude, I finally hung up on her.

On top of all of this, you should know that there’s 2 separate ADT entity’s. The first being the advertisements you get in the mail which come from ADT’s corporate office or “Authorized Dealers”. The second being actual ADT that you call on the phone and specifically request an agent from there to come. I ended up getting the corporate ADT because, I didn’t know any different. When you sign up for new service you’ll receive 1 motion sensor, 1 keypad, 1 keychain remote and 2 sensors. Want more than 2 sensors? That’ll cost you $120 for 2 more of them. That’s right, they are not only killing you every month but, they also are demanding you pay 4 times the price for wireless sensors that you can buy online or other places that don’t want to screw you over.

The best part of all? You get to be stuck in a 2 year contract at a total of $1,151 to rent the service. Then if you don’t renew your contract, they will stop monitoring you and can even take your equipment. I will say this BUYER BEWARE!

My Intolerance of people

Published August 11, 2015 by Amplio Recorrido

Stressed

If you have a general intolerance of society or people or you know someone who has this problem, please read this blog to find out more about it, straight from someone who has the problem.

Over the years I’ve lost a lot of people that meant everything to me. People who died and it took a toll on me. I started growing an intolerance to people as I started losing people. The people who meant everything to me, were the people that I could look up to in order to have a good goal in mind of what I wanted to be like. Not that I need to copy someone else but, when you have positive people in your life, you tend to want to be somewhat like them. When those people started dying off, I felt like I didn’t have anyone that I could model their behavior and therefore, I gained an intolerance to people.

My views of people are many and usually negative. I have an intolerance to people who behave badly, scream in public, ignore their kids who are destroying stuff or screaming, fighting among couples, an annoying husband who yells at his wife to come on 20 times in 10 seconds, people who scream at strangers on the road or in cars, who don’t listen, who always do the opposite of what you say, those who play the victim all of the time, those who choose to be “clueless or stupid” when they really are just lazy and oh I could go on and on.

As I’m getting older and the people I cared most about have almost all died off, I find myself heading in a direction that I don’t necessarily like but, I’m also indifferent to what people think about me too. For the simple fact that I don’t do any of the things that I hate from others, I somehow expect people to just get it together and stop acting like complete assholes! I’m sorry for the language but, if I’m passionate enough to write about it then you know it really bothers me.

I do not have an intolerance to the elderly, small children or the mentally/physically handicapped. They all have reasons for their behavior and it usually cannot be controlled and therefore, it would be unfair of me to be impatient with them.

I often wonder why people act the way they do. Do they not realize what an obnoxious person they are being? Can they not control their behaviors and their respect for people around them? I almost always avoid society and being in public. When I do go out, I find myself more stressed out and annoyed even after completely minimizing my time out. When I get of public, I feel a sense of relief and for the same reason, I don’t drive. I cannot stand people on the road, they are inconsiderate and dangerous and so if I could avoid being on the road at all, I would!

So this blog is based around my “at minimum” thoughts which basically means, these are my generalized thoughts and feelings and this blog isn’t a complete explanation of what I go through. However, I hope that it’s of some value to you and that you can somewhat understand my point of view. Thank you!!
